本书共十四卷, 卷末一卷. 震泽是吴江市西部重镇, 是吴江乃至上海通往浙北、皖南和江西的大门. 自古人文荟萃, 商业繁盛. 震泽得名, 始于《禹贡》 "震泽底定" 一语. 后先改属, 镇县悬殊. 至清道光年间, 郡人沈眉寿、南浔纪磊纂修《震泽镇志》, 体例赅备, 详略得宜. 尤其值得称道的是, 书中在相关门类中均附录了许多诗文, 有的还具有辑佚的价值. 民国年间, 郡人龚希髯于道光刊本基础上补续内容, 下限至民国二十六年. 体例一仍旧志.
