About

Paperback magazine with glossy color covers, held together with two staples in the spine. There are also two holes punched along the left side. The front cover has the title "Ocean Wireless News" along the top, along with an illustration of a man/God head and hand just above the water line. The bottom of the page is illustrated with gulls over land, and radio transmitters going up both the right and left sides. In the center of the front cover, is a colorized photo of the mouth of the Columbia River at sunset. The back cover has a full-page advertisement for the Southern Pacific ship routes. The magazine, and the handout, are in poor condition and rather fragile. The magazine shows wearing and some discoloration along the edges

This edition contains two good maps of Clatsop County, one with areas of dairies, sawmills, butter and cheese factories, municipal docks, ferries, etc. There are advertisements for Booth Fisheries, Sanborn Cutting Company, Union Fishermen's Cooperative Packing Company, and Columbia River Packers Association with recipes for fixing fish. There is also a map of "Taylor's Astoria" and Warrenton with land offered for sale and ads for McEachern Company.

Inside the magazine is a folded paper insert of "The Pacific Wireless, #10." It has four pages of typed news and information that was sent wirelessly to the ship and distributed on board. This ship was the S.S. President, which made trips from San Francisco to Seattle.  This was its 210th voyage, under the direction of Commander George H. Zeh. Current news was typed into a newspaper format that was folded over to make 4 pages. Includes weather reports and baseball scores. It also listed the captain and crew of the ship. There is also a small insert about Glacier and sites to visit in British Columbia.
