Irene's husband has chosen another lover. And over time, Adrian nurtures his deceit and with his new lover, Frankie, he finds the courage to leave Irene and their three children. Irene is, at first, hurt, angry, broken. If it wasn't for the children, she believes her life would come apart. Their agony, and hers, seems almost too much to bear. But as she battles through the daily routine, the promise of a new life gradually emerges.
