About
This book is the result of the International Faulkner Symposium in Oslo in the spring of 1995, co-hosted by the University of Oslo and the Norwegian Academy for Science and the Arts. The Oslo symposium was devoted to the study of William Faulkner's short fiction, and concentrated on questions of genre, narrators and narration, as well as the complex and intriguing relationship between short stories and novels. His short fiction was also placed in a broad cultural context, and new readings of individual stories were presented.
