Masinde Muliro

Masinde Muliro was one of Kenya's foremost nationalists, a peasant boy of unyielding patriotism greatly respected for his principles. This story of his life illustrates his political leadership and why he was a symbol of the fight of his community - the Bukusu - against colonialism. He died naturally in 1992, at the moment when his skills were badly needed in reconciling different factions within the democratic opposition in Kenya.
