Hijratoan Kay Silsilay

An autobiography of Muhammad Luthfullah Khan (b. 1916), collector/archiver, advertiser, traveller, writer & photographer, who has become a legend in view of his services to Indian subcontinent's history, literature & culture through his unique audio library. He was born in the South Indian city of Madras where he spent the first 20 years of his life. He then migrated to Hyderabad Deccan where he had a one year stay. His next destination was Bombay (now Mumbai). He spent 10 memorable years in this metropolis. Then after independence in 1947, he migrated to Pakistan and settled in Karachi where he still lives. The book chronicles the first 82 years of the adventurous life of the author who will complete his 94 years on 25 November 2010. In the last chapter (# 13), the author describes how after buying a tape recorder in July 1951, he gradually started recording voices of dignitries from various fields and developed a unique collection of audio recordings. He also discusses the future of this important depositary of resource and reference material of immense value to researchers, scholars and historians.
