About
A young dog, no longer wanted by her owners, is left in a field to fend for herself. Luckily, this small, frightened Dalmatian is found and given a second chance. Once a Stray is the true story of Nel the Dalmatian's rescue and subsequent achievements. Nearly turned down for adoption, a new owner came along and saw something special in her eyes. Nel fulfilled the promise that the new owner had seen in her by flying through one type of training after another, and acing every test. Nel's journey continues as she uses all of these new skills in service to others. Her feats, sometimes amusing, other times amazing, are always heartwarming. Once a Stray, told in simple rhyme, will appeal to animal lovers of all ages. It is a must read for anyone who has ever known a sick child, and everyone who believes in the power of love.
