The Mentor

An inspirational story of how an 18 years old of Staten Island, NY overcame the most difficult obstacles in one’s life. With the deaths of his 3 brothers, Malek recalls the struggles he faces dealing with their deaths. That isn’t all this bright, young adult had to go through. He recalls his story from the minute he was born. From almost not surviving birth to being hit by a tractor trailer, Malek leaves nothing out. His reason for telling his story is to grab the attention of his fellow teenagers. His mission is to lower the teen suicide rates and drug overdoses. He wants teenagers to understand the value of life. Although teens is his main target, he wants people of all ages to learn and be inspired from his story. Although he isn’t perfect, he desires to Mentor people in the right direction. With his inspirational story, Malek will recall the spontaneous contest winnings and celebrity run-ins he received after he started doing good deeds. His friends call him the luckiest kid in the world because of his luck. Most kids at Malek’s age were playing sports and out with friends. Malek was never taught how to ride a bike or swim. He never had the chance to be a kid. He was his brothers‘caretaker. Malek overcame a lifetime of struggles during his childhood. He recalls living homeless in a hotel for 6 months after his house caught fire. Malek’s mentor’s were his brothers.
