Sarah Clancy is from Salthill. She is a participant in the Galway Arts Centre Poetry Workshops facilitated by Kevin Higgins and has read her poetry at North Beach Poetry Nights, the Over The Edge open-mic and was a Featured Reader at the August Over The Edge: Open Reading. This year, in a display of what she describes as beginners luck, Sarah was shortlisted in both the poetry section of the WOW awards 2010, the Listowel Writers Week Collection of Poetry Competition 2010 and the Over The Edge New Writer of The Year Competition. Her poems have been published in Revival, Dogs Singing (Edited by Jessie Lendennie, Salmon Poetry 2010) and Behind The Masks, the anthology of poems by participants in the advanced poetry workshop at Galway Arts Centre. Stacey and the Mechanical Bull is published by Lapwing Press in Belfast and is Sarah's debut collection of poetry.
