In the quantitative component of this study, the aim is to determine if racial stacking is still occurring in the NFL during the 2004-2205 season by analyzing the effects of race on playing position. The quantitative research results indict that racial stacking was prevalent in the NFL during the 2004-2005 season. Consistent with previous studies, this study confirms that African Americans are concentrated in less prestigious positions. This study also found that race is not a factor in determining which athletes receive post-season awards and honors.
