Berries, Tickles and Saltwater Ice

This story tells of life in a land of awesome beauty, of lives lived and changed along the rugged east and north coastlines of Newfoundland and Labrador; stories of northern nurses and doctors coming from the comforts and glaring lights of "mainland" Canada to live their lives amongst outport Newfoundlanders, a strong people naturally giving from their own bread and shelter to those in need. These are stories of relationship, of bravery, strength and sustaining faith that must often stand against intrusive and scarring realities. Living by the sea, the people of the coast know the reality whereby the sea gives generously from her bounty today. Whereas tomorrow she may withhold those favours and lash out against those who depend on her for many things.
