About
Three unlikely housemates take a late summer trip to the wonderous Greek islands; intent on ferry hopping their way around as many places as they can in sixteen days. While engaging in as much fun and relaxation as time and fate will allow. But like the decision to go itself, things don't quite go to plan when they get there. For one thing, one of them has a drink problem and can't manage his money or his mood swings. Another is on his first proper holiday in over twenty years; new to Greece and health concious. And the third can't stop goading the first about his many failings whenever the opportunity arises. Yet somehow the intrepid trio make it through airport security with only the confiscation of a corkscrew and knife. Survive the inevitable first and last night emotional breakdowns without throwing a punch. Suffer, the early loss of an all important debit card, several items of overpriced clothing and accessories; the lure of Blackpool upon Greece, a malicious mosquito attack, drunken excess, a night on a remote beach stalked by a wild beast of uncertain origin; an overly superstitious taxi driver, two attempted drownings, one man's sanity, sex in public; a Greek wedding reception, an American temptress, and, the beautiful allure of a siren called Greece. Throughout, the whole delicate balance of the journey is thrown into jeopardy by one of the party constantly losing his marbles and getting lost; especially within the narrow winding paths of Lindos. Forcing the other two into the imagined establishment of a late night homing taxi service - the ever so slightly fabled Midnight Donkey.
