Egli presenta lo svolgimento ulteriore dello stile pittorico, come un bisogno per conquistare l'intera realtà, ma nello stesso tempo esprime, anche con le parole, il suo amore per un momento della visione, che gli permetteva di rispettare la tradizione fiorentina della forma.
