Story Summary: It s a post war-torn dystopian world. The nation of Panem sits in the center of the country, surrounded by twelve districts. With the memories of a district uprising fresh in their minds, Panem forces each district to send one boy and one girl to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a gladiatorial fight to the death on live TV. When her younger sister is chosen, sixteen-year-old Katniss volunteers to take her place, to save her sister from certain death. Katniss begins to rise as a contender, and people take notice. But can she win when she must choose between her survival and her humanity?
