About
The Holloway ranch had been a cattle ranch for as long as Maggie could remember. And her grandfather had been a cattleman through and through. Maybe it was old fashioned, but to the Holloway clan you were either a cattleman or a sheeper---and the two simply did not mix! So when Maggie returned home for her usual summer vacation from teaching, her surprise to see sheep grazing on the family ranch moved quickly to shock and then total disgust. What could her father have been thinking by leasing this land to a sheeper? Even if he did own the ranch now, he should never have gone against his father’s wishes. She would get to the bottom of this and do whatever it took to make this...this debacle right!

Sloan Prescott had little use for people who still believed that cattle and sheep shouldn’t be kept together. The notion was old, the attitude was outdated---and the whole idea was just stupid! Thank goodness those kinds of people were very few and far between these days. Until, that is, the beautiful Maggie Holloway showed up on his doorstep asking that he remove his sheep from her family ranch.

Besides the lease, a legal and binding document that Sloan held for prime grazing land on the Holloway ranch, he also held the memory of a kiss they shared ten years ago, a kiss that shook him to his very core. Even if he could move his sheep, there was no force on earth that would get him to do so now, not when he had a legitimate reason for spending time with Maggie. One way or another he was going to make her see the error in her thinking---cows and sheep could certainly mix it up and so could they!
