About
The Flaming Dragon is a new telling of the King Arthur legend by authors Pete Elmore and Barbara Elmore. This story takes place in the year 535 AD, opening with the Battle of Camlann. It is based on a very possible historical event. There was severe climate change all around the world during this ten year period. This was the coldest period of the last 6000 years. Historians around the world noted the atmosphere was very hazy and the sun was a bluish color and seemed to give forth little heat. The change was probably triggered by one of two events, although it is possible both occurred. Some scientists have contended the change came from Krakatoa erupting, while others pointed to a comet exploding over Britain and Ireland as the trigger. This book uses the comet explosion as the backdrop.

King Arthur, Merlin, the Knights of the Round table, Queen Guinevere, Prince Madoc, Morgana and a Roman Legion must all work together to evacuate survivors from the vast wasteland of Britain. It would be around ten years before the island would recover enough to support human settlement. Former enemies will have to work together to survive. Merlin advised King Arthur to take the survivors of the comet catastrophe to Avalon, a land of mists across the sea, today known as North America

The promised land of Avalon was embroiled in their own war when the refugees from Camelot arrived. A race of red-haired Giants, with a taste for human flesh, were out to make the humans go extinct. King Arthur and Chief Running Bear form an alliance, and with the help of some Holy Relics, wage war with the Giants
