…by the time I got to college three years ago, the teasing had stopped. Instead, the people I met would ask me what happened to my eye, squirming upon seeing it up close, or they would avoid me altogether. Needless to say, the boys gave one look in my direction and never a second. Never mind that I had an excellent figure, perfect teeth or hair that was naturally smooth. Never mind that I was smart.
