Prosta i uboga mieszkanka dworku w Niezdołach nie nadaje się przecież na żonę arystokraty… Świadkiem rozpaczy i wielkiego poczucia krzywdy Salomei jest wierna rzeka, ona jedna rozumie "męczarnię serca" dziewczyny, która dla swojego ukochanego ryzykowała życiem i której zapłacono za to sakiewką pełną złota i dotkliwym upokorzeniem.
Wiatr od morza to zbiór utworów prozą. Pokazują w epizodach dzieje polskiego Pomorza od najdawniejszych czasów po współczesność Łącznikiem jest mitologiczna postać Smętka symbolizującego tragizm historii. Przyniósł pisarzowi pierwszą państwową nagrodę literacką w niepodległej Polsce (1925).

The Faithful River & The Wind from the Sea

The Faithful River is a lyrical novel set in central Poland during the January Uprising (1863-1865). A wounded soldier appears outside the manor house and is cared for by Salomea, the young ward of the absent owners. Striving to conceal the soldier's presence during brutal and invasive visits by the Russians, Salomea finds herself falling in love with her patient.
The Wind from the Sea is a collection of compositions with prose. Shown in episodes taking place on the Polish Pomerania from the old times to the present day linked by the mythological figure Smętka symbolizing the tragic nature of the history. It earned the writer the first State-Literary Prize in Independent Poland (1925).
