About
"Dziady" (English translation: Forefathers' Eve) is a poetic drama written by Adam Mickiewicz between 1822 and 1860. It is considered as the best work of Polish Romanticism and one of the great works of European Romanticism. For many of dramatist Dziady is a realisation of the drama theory and it should be ranked with such works as Byron's Manfred or Goethe's Faust.
