The Rising Song of African American Women

The Rising Song of African American Women combines historical voices, spiritual consciousness, and liberation politics to provide a much needed historical, political and sociological context for understanding the lives and experiences of Black women.
In these provocative and creative writings, Barbara Omolade explores the politics and visions of Black feminists in our world today, examines the social and cultural significance of Black women intellectuals, and places the present day work, family, and sexual experiences of most Black women within their historical backgrounds.
