Az Eufória évei / Years of Euphoria 1988-1990

Piroska Nagy, born in the United States to parents who left Hungary after the 1956 upheaval, returned to Budapest in 1980 to study, and ended up documenting Hungary's release from Soviet orbit and its fall into the Western sphere of influence over the span of three years. Her photos were published in Western and Samizdat publications between 1988 and 1990 and in various online collections, including that of the 1956 Institute in Budapest. The photos have also been published in a book, Years of Euphoria, 1988 - 1990. Piroska's heartrending photographs are an important document of the end of communism and the rebirth of Hungarian political independence.
