Less than half a year ago, Tony and I received a mysterious note from Jared, Simon, and Mallory Grace, three children who have experienced authentic encounters with the beings we call faeries. As hard as it was for us to believe, we came to see that there was no alternative explanation. Now, putting aside personal concerns, we bring their stories to you.

In Lucinda's Secret, things at the Spiderwick estate are getting out of hand. If being attacked by a band of marauding goblins and almost eaten by a bridge troll wasn't enough, now Jared is being harrassed by Thimbletack, the house boggart, and Simon has a very hungry griffin recuperating in the carriage house. Mallory is convinced that the only way to stop the madness is to chuck the Guide. But that's not an option. Only one person can help solve this mystery, their crazy old Aunt Lucinda.

In The Ironwood Tree, the entire faerie world is eager to get their hands on Spiderwick's Guide, but why? And will the Grace kids be left alone now that the Guide has mysteriously disappeared? To make matters even worse, now Mallory has vanished and something foul in the water is killing off all the plants and animals for miles around. And the faerie world's abuzz with the news that a creature with plans to rule the world has offered them a gift to join with him: he's given them a queen.
