A Bad Joke, Murder and Now Grace?: An Interpretation of the Book of Judges, Chapters 19-21

Few people have heard much about the Old Testament story of the Levite and the Concubine in the Book of Judges 19-21. This story is very difficult to understand so I wrote a framework around the narrator’s story but tried very hard to not alter any facts. I just filled in what I thought were plausible explanations so that the facts made more sense to me. Why did all this happen? What were the motives? The narrator says three times, “There was no king in Israel; every man did what was right in his own eyes.” The story reeks of arrogance and I looked there for the answers.
