About
Before he was the outsider. Now Juan Garcia, the Spaniard who brought horses (elk-dogs), to the people, was a chief with a new name, Heads Off. Before, the people had run from their traditional enemies, the Head Splitters, Now the People were warriors who had become respected by others on the Great Plains. But the youths, the "young Bloods" of the tribe were thirsty for battle to prove themselves men. Against the direct orders of their elders, the young men wanted to continue their war with the Head Splitters. It was up to Heads Off to keep the peace among his own people.
