The Elk-Dog Heritage

Before he was the outsider. Now Juan Garcia, the Spaniard who brought horses (elk-dogs), to the people, was a chief with a new name, Heads Off. Before, the people had run from their traditional enemies, the Head Splitters, Now the People were warriors who had become respected by others on the Great Plains. But the youths, the "young Bloods" of the tribe were thirsty for battle to prove themselves men.
