What is a full-wrap book cover?+
A full-wrap (or "full bleed") cover is a single file containing the back cover, spine, and front cover as one continuous image, with a bleed margin off every edge. Print-on-demand services like Amazon KDP require this single wrap file for paperbacks — not three separate images.
How is spine width calculated?+
Spine width = page count × paper thickness per page. This tool uses KDP's calipers: 0.002252" for white paper, 0.0025" for cream, and 0.002347" for premium color. A 300-page white-paper book has a spine of about 0.68".
Why won't KDP let me download the cover I made in its Cover Creator?+
Amazon's Cover Creator only works inside KDP and does not let you export the finished file for use elsewhere. This tool gives you a print-ready PDF you own and can upload to KDP or any other printer.
What about the barcode area?+
KDP prints a barcode roughly 2" × 1.2" in the bottom-right of the back cover. This tool marks that zone so you keep it clear of important artwork or text — placing content there can get your cover rejected or covered by the barcode.
