How to Get Started as an Author

Reach the readers already discussing your work. Set up your author profile, connect your books, and engage clubs from one dashboard.

  1. 1

    Apply for an author account

Visit the author sign-up page and apply with the name you publish under. Once approved, an Author Dashboard option appears in your account menu.

  2. 2

    Open your Author Dashboard

From your profile menu, choose Author Dashboard. This is your home base for everything author-related: your books, the clubs reading them, messages, Q&A, and earnings.

  3. 3

Already have an author page? Claim it

If Readfeed already has a public page for you (readers may have added your books before you arrived), open it and press “Are you …? Claim this profile”. Tell us how to verify it is you — your website, a social profile, or a publisher page. Claiming is free; every claim is reviewed before the profile is linked to your account, to protect authors from impersonation.

  4. 4

    Claim your books

In your author area, open My Books and press Claim a Book — enter your author name exactly as it appears on your published books, and every matching title in the catalog is claimed at once.

A book missing from the catalog? Use Add Your Book to submit it (title, ISBN or Amazon ASIN, cover, description). Submissions show as Pending review until the Readfeed team approves them, and you get a notification once your book is live. Need to fix a claimed book’s title or cover? Press Suggest edit — edits also go live after a quick review.

    💡

Books with covers rank better in search results — include a cover URL when you submit a new book.

  5. 5

    Engage the clubs reading you

See which book clubs are reading your work, answer reader questions in the Q&A section, and message clubs to offer to join a discussion or do a virtual visit.

    💡

Offering to drop into a discussion is one of the highest-impact things an author can do on Readfeed.

  6. 6

Offer signed copies and track earnings

Enable signed-copy orders so clubs can buy personalized books directly from you, then track orders and earnings right inside the dashboard.

You’re all set!

Jump back into Readfeed and try it out for yourself.
