Follow the written steps below — they cover everything in the video.

  1. 1

    What you need first

Ticketed events live inside your clubs, so you need two things before you start:

    • A club you created — start one from your author dashboard if you have not yet.
    • A connected Stripe account — tickets cannot go on sale without it. Connect from the Payouts card on your author dashboard.

You keep 100% of ticket revenue minus Stripe’s processing fee — Readfeed takes no cut of live events.

  2. 2

    Create the event

Open Live Events in your author area and press New Event. Pick the club, give the event a title and description, and set:

    • Date & time — at least 72 hours out, so the ticket minimum has time to be reached
    • Duration — 30 to 120 minutes
    • Ticket price — between $5 and $10
    • Ticket minimum — 5 to 25 tickets; the event only runs if this many sell
    • Capacity (optional) — cap attendance for intimate sessions
    • Meeting link — your own Zoom, Meet, or similar link, only ever shown to paid ticket holders once the event is confirmed

The event is created as a draft, so you can polish it before anyone sees it.

    đź’ˇ

You can add or change the meeting link any time before start — so it is fine to create the event first and make the Zoom room later.

  3. 3

    Put tickets on sale

When it looks right, press Put tickets on sale. From that moment the start time, price, and ticket minimum are locked — description, capacity, and meeting link stay editable.

Then spread the word: Copy event link gives you a shareable page for your newsletter and socials, and the event automatically appears as a banner above your club’s chat.

  4. 4

    How the ticket minimum works

The minimum is what makes tickets easy to buy: readers are promised a full automatic refund if the event does not reach its minimum by 72 hours before start.

    • The moment enough tickets sell, the event is confirmed — ticket holders are emailed and the join link is released to them before start.
    • If the minimum is not reached 72 hours out, the event auto-cancels and every buyer is refunded in full. Nobody pays for an event that does not happen, and your reputation stays intact.

Ticket buyers also become members of your club, so every event grows your community even after it ends.

    đź’ˇ

Set the minimum you would be thrilled to talk to, not the maximum you can imagine — a confirmed event with 8 people beats a cancelled one priced for 25.

  5. 5

    Host it, then follow up

At start time, open your meeting link and run the session — ticket holders join from My Tickets, where their join button switches to “Join now — live”.

Afterwards, open Attendees on the event to see who came, and use Export opted-in emails to download the readers who chose to share their email for your newsletter at checkout. Then keep the conversation going in the club chat.

You’re all set!

Jump back into Readfeed and try it out for yourself.
